My Home away from home!!!

My home away from home: Crunch & Munch AD  Abu Dhabi! Not only in the literal sense (as it’s almost walking distance from where I live lol) but also because it’s one of the very few cafes/places that actually take me back in time to places I most often reminisce about.

The reason why I have chosen to blog about it is that its interiors are breathtaking and definitely not to  be missed!! – the gorgeously eclectic interiors perfectly house the most relaxed, warm, homey and intimate aura; a whiff of the awe inspiring English country living and a contemporary take on Victorian era styling altogether emanating the most charmingly rustic ambience most definitely likely to revive and reinvigorate anyone in dire need of positive motivation and rejuvenation! The place most definitely appeals to clientele of all ages and even has a small corner in the middle of the cafe with books and toys to keep children busy. It is often my go-to-place when I crave for a ‘change of scenery per se’ while working on project designs and report writing – which works EVERY SINGLE time to get the creative juices flowing ; similarly it is often a preference for my 5 year old when (in her own words) she wants to “chill and do her homework”!🤗

Such interiors are actually a perfect fit in light of current trends today. According to Marianne Shillingford (Creative Director at Dulux), “Last year, many of us were left unsettled by global events, so we closed our doors to retreat and regroup. Now we feel ready to throw open our windows and face the world again. Our trend research shows that people around the world are experiencing a renewed sense of energy, optimism and purpose. There’s a desire to engage with others, to make things better and ‘be the change’…….People are ready to seize the moment and indulge in reminiscence – Now is the time to think, to dream, to love and to act” – hence a ‘sense of belonging‘ and ‘story-telling‘. Just recently, Paul Bishop (Owner and managing partner at Bishop Design) pointed out a similar trend pertaining to a move towards the Design for the expression era and that it is then all the psychological and subliminal mental recollections that you really need to tap into; “it is the tactile, the sound element and the impeccably comfortable and personable experience that makes people come back…”. Phil Pond from Scarlet Opus also recently shed light on how consumers of today and tomorrow are/going to be most certainly the extremely mindful, positive, energetic and aware millennials and Generation Z wanting to experience everything and add value to life….and that by the year 2026 a mini to a major consumer boom is expected most probably centred around this very age group.

And finally! Worth mentioning is the genre of music, perfectly nostalgic and positively motivating for us ‘millennials’ and ‘generation z’!!! Check this video to listen to it 🎵🎵🎵

And so I shall stop right here – yes much to your delight I have decided to withhold my rants and ravings this time (lol😂) and let you enjoy and immerse yourself  into the idyllic interior design scheme enveloping Crunch and Munch Cafe:
